Resolved Without Court
Client Reviews
In Their Own Words
Siriporn Charoenwong
Bangkok, Thailand
When my father passed, none of us knew where to start with the estate. Khun Somchai walked through everything clearly — which documents were needed, what the court process would involve, the realistic timeline. The paperwork was handled accurately and we were updated throughout. It took about seven weeks in total, which matched what we had been told.
Documentation & Filing — May 2025
Marcus Fitzwilliam
British expat, Bangkok
I have a condominium in Asok and no Thai will in place. The planning review gave me a clear picture of what Thai law would do with my estate by default and what I needed to put in order. The written summary was genuinely useful — plain language, no legal jargon — and I have kept it to refer back to.
Estate Planning Review — April 2025
Nattapong Phongprasit
Chiang Mai, Thailand
A contested matter with my siblings over our mother's estate. It was a delicate situation and I was concerned it would damage relationships further. The advice I received was honest — they told me the realistic options and what the court route would actually involve. We eventually settled through negotiation, which was the right outcome. Communication throughout was considerate and clear.
Contested Estate — March 2025
Wanchai Tansakul
Bangkok, Thailand
I engaged Suvarna Legal to handle the filing for my late wife's estate. The process was more involved than I expected — there were two properties and bank accounts — but Nattawan managed the coordination efficiently. I always knew what was needed from me and why. Fees were as agreed, no surprises.

Anne-Laure Bertrand
French national, Phuket
Finding a firm that could help with both the Thai and international elements of our estate was not easy. Priya was thoughtful and knowledgeable. She explained the interaction between French succession rules and Thai law in a way I could follow, and the planning review gave us the foundation we needed to put things in order. I found the whole experience reassuring.
Estate Planning Review — April 2025
Kanya Jiraphat
Bangkok, Thailand
I went in expecting something quite complicated but the session was straightforward and productive. The written checklist afterwards has been particularly helpful — I have been working through it with my family. One suggestion: it would be useful to have a follow-up session available after some time has passed, to review progress. I would return for that.

Case Summaries
How Matters Were Resolved
The following summaries describe the type of matter and outcome. Names and identifying details have been changed.
Challenge
Estate With No Will and Four Heirs
A Bangkok family needed to administer a large intestate estate — land in the north, a condominium, and savings — with four adult heirs and no prior legal preparation.
Our Approach
We handled the court application for administrator appointment, prepared the full schedule of assets, and coordinated the transfer of each asset to the relevant heir over approximately ten weeks.
Outcome
All assets transferred to heirs in accordance with Thai succession law. No disputes arose. The family described the process as less daunting than anticipated.
Timeline: 10 weeks — Documentation & Filing
"We did not know what we were walking into. The process was explained clearly at each stage and we felt in capable hands throughout."
Challenge
Disputed Will — Validity Questioned by One Heir
One of three heirs disputed the validity of their parent's will, claiming undue influence and pointing to procedural irregularities in how it was executed.
Our Approach
We assessed the will's formal compliance and the strength of the challenge. After shared communication with all parties through legal correspondence, a negotiated division acceptable to all three heirs was reached without court proceedings.
Outcome
Matter resolved through negotiation in approximately five months. Legal costs were contained. The sibling relationships remained intact at conclusion.
Timeline: 5 months — Contested Representation
"The advice I received was honest, which is what I needed. The settlement was fair. I had not expected things to end as well as they did."
Challenge
Expatriate Planning with Thai and UK Assets
A British national resident in Bangkok sought to plan her estate, which comprised a Thai condominium, a UK pension, and savings in both countries.
Our Approach
We reviewed her existing UK will, explained what it did and did not cover in Thailand, and provided a written summary. We prepared a Thai will for the local assets and noted which aspects would require attention from a UK solicitor.
Outcome
Thai will properly executed and retained. The client had a written plan covering the Thai position, and clear guidance on the steps remaining in the UK.
Timeline: 3 weeks — Estate Planning Review
"The planning session was worthwhile. I finally feel like I understand what my estate will actually look like from a Thai law perspective."
